Prices

I would rather give you a useful range than a cheerful mystery.

Fees are based on the shape of the records, not how loudly the deadline is shouting. A tidy sole trader with one bank feed costs less than a limited company with paper receipts, supplier accounts, VAT, CIS and a slow reply habit.

Rescue Estimator

Catch-Up Work Is Quoted After A Proper Look

Bookkeeping rescue and catch-up work is £48 per hour, with a usual fixed quote after the first 90-minute review.

One Month Behind

Typical hours: 3 to 5

Usually £145 to £240 if bank statements are complete and the owner can answer questions quickly.

Three Months Behind

Typical hours: 9 to 16

Most three-month catch-ups land between £420 and £780, especially where receipts or supplier accounts need rebuilding.

Six Months Or More

Review first

The first 90-minute review sets the quote, deadline risk and order of work. Jobs over £400 need a 50% deposit.

What Moves The Fee

The Price Follows The Friction

  • Transaction count across bank, card and loan accounts.
  • Number of bank feeds and whether statements are complete.
  • Paper records, mixed personal spending or missing receipts.
  • Supplier accounts that need statement checks.
  • Payroll size, starters, leavers and changing hours.
  • VAT scheme, construction reverse charge and deadline pressure.
  • How often the owner replies when a question is asked.

Payment Rhythm

No Surprise Invoices Tucked Behind The Quarter

Monthly packages are paid by Direct Debit on the 1st of the month in advance. The minimum engagement for monthly bookkeeping is 3 months, because the first VAT quarter is where the pattern shows itself. After the 3-month minimum, monthly bookkeeping can be cancelled with one full month's notice by email before the next Direct Debit is collected.

Rescue or catch-up work over £400 needs a 50% deposit before the first ledger rebuild starts. Payroll-only clients pay before the RTI submission is made.
